Bannon says that he always wanted to make mash-ups but never jumped into production until after seeing Girl Talk perform at the Treasure Island Music Festival in 2009. Growing up in Boulder, CO and going to school in San Luis Obispo, CA has exposed Bannon to all types of music, ranging from electronica to folk to hip hop, allowing him to draw off of numerous genres to produce his tracks. Though people pronounce his name various ways, the correct pronunciation is "Positive Vibes," although he says any word of mouth, regardless of pronunciation, is fine by him. Couldn't agree more.
