トーマス (THOMAS) was a Japanese indie band formed in 2008 by ex-otoiro guitarist Toshi. With syn, Zun and Hazime he formed a band with a fresh sound and the band released their first demo single, 「涙色ラボラトリー」(Namida Iro Laboratory), at the end of 2008. Soon after, vocalist syn left due to musical differences. At the beginning of 2009 the band found a new vocalist in the person of Masataka, who was previously in Sunday in the Scream (The band's other members joined yazzmad). Thomas released another demo single, 「破壊的イノベーション」(Hakaiteki Innovation), in August, which contained a reworked version of the first demo, but after the release drummer Hazime left due to health issues. Hayato (ex-ガネーシャ(jully)) filled the role of support drummer after that. The band released their first single, 「パーソナリティ」(Personality), which shows more electronic influences, at the beginning of 2010. After that a new release, 「ピストル」(Pistol), was sold at their concerts only, starting in August. In October, Thomas announced their new support drummer, Lotto, who would become their official drummer in November. A new single titled 「激情マニフェスト」(Gekijou Manifesto) was released in December. In 2011, the band released one single, CRAZY DISCO. and their only mini-album, Determination, in April and November respectively. A live-limited one-coin single フラッシュバック(Flashback) was sold starting May 2012, followed by the release of another single in December, 革命(Kakumei). The band did remastering and vocal-re-recording of this latest single and re-released it in May 2013, including a live version of 「ピストル」(Pistol). Ba.Zun officially departed in June 2013 so he could fully recover from injuries of his left wrist and Hayato (ex-ReivieЯ) took over bass duties as support. The band announced their disbandment after their one-man live "ラストクーデター(Last Coup d'Etat)" at Shibuya DESEO on February 22nd 2014, citing differences in directions among members.
