Wong Kar Wai, the chinese director made 2046 in 2004. It is a dramatic sci-fi romantic movie. Tony Leung plays. He thought he wrote about the future but it really was the past. In his novel, a mysterious train left for 2046 every once in a while. Everyone who went there had the same intention.....to recapture their lost memories. It was said that in 2046, nothing ever changed. Nobody knew for sure if it was true, because nobody who went there had ever come back- except for one. He was there. He chose to leave. He wanted to change. During the film the longing for true love, an often chosen subject by Kar Wai can be felt by the watcher. The track 'Casta Diva' is originally from the opera 'NORMA' written in 1831 by Vincenzo Bellini, and is accounted as one of the most important belcanto operaworks.'Casta Diva' ,meaning 'pure woman', is about a secret love between a gallic woman NORMA and a Roman proconsul. Pollione, the Roman consul fals in love with another woman, and out of jealousy and political reasons Norma wants to kill their two children.Pollione has a death sentence.
