A Light In The Dark

"A Light In The Dark" is a melancholic/atmospheric post-metal project, contains elements of various genres like depressive rock, shoegaze, trance and others. Was formed by B.M. (Skyforest, Blurry Lights, Hiki), the only member, in Podolsk, Russian Federation in March 2012 as a side-project. Everything was released only for free download via facebook page. The first EP "Disharmony" was self-released in April 2012. Later debut album "From One Day To Another" was released in May 2012. The second album, "Sweet Dreams" was released in February 2013. The project went in instrumental and more experimental way since this album. The album was recorded featuring Helferlein on drums (Outlaw Wyvern, Thy Grave) After that there was an EP called The Future Is Now with soft electronic versions of a few songs from previous two albums, and including Grey Waters electronic cover. The last release of the project was the single Shooting Stars. This song was released in original and soft electronic version. The project was closed at January 14 2014. In summer 2015, B.M. has decided to re-record a few songs from both albums. They were re-recorded absolutely from scratch with B.M. on all instruments and mixing-mastering work, which resulted in the self-titled album A Light in the Dark. The album also features the song 'Cotton Cloud' which was partially written in 2012 and never released before. Song was finished in August 2015 and included to this album as the last track. The album with re-recorded songs can be downloaded for 'name-your-price' from Bandcamp. In autumn 2016, the project was revived again and came back to the roots - new EP called 'Vanished' was released and got much darker atmosphere with a complete absence of any electronics this time - just walls of guitars accompanied with programmed drum patterns. The EP is mostly instrumental. In summer 2017, ALITD has seen the release of a new album, after 4 years from the release of previous full-length album (not counting the EP and compilation). The album continued the branch set on Vanished EP, but this time vocals were added (harsh and clean vocals). Previously, vocals in ALITD were only on 'Disharmony' EP back in 2012.
