Andrea Carroll was born Andrea Lee DeCapite on October 3 1946 in Cleveland Ohio. Her best known song is "It hurts to be Sixteen" which features The Chiffons on background vocals and was produced by Bright Tunes (members of the Tokens). It was written by Neil Sedaka under a pseudonym (Ronnie Grossman). She also cut the original version of "Please Don't Talk to the Lifeguard", but it was a hit for Diane Ray and not Andrea.
