In 2014, Smith joined AF Music Group (AFMG) as an Audio Engineer. His productions got him an audition for Cincinnati, Ohio's Def Jam's "We Got Next" in 2010. By 2012, he released several "promos" under his real name Antoine Christopher. Late 2000‘s, Smith entered in several songwriting contests: In 2011 UK's Top 5 Finalists in The Peoples Music Awards (TPMA), Best Male Solo Artist & Dance/Electronica for his unreleased track “City In The Sea." In 2010 UK's Top 5 Finalists, Best Male Solo Artist for his track, “Mythical" in TPMA." Hayden Bendall: Producer/Mixer/Engineer (worked w/ stars...Kate Bush, Katie Melula, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Tori Amos, and many more) says..."City In The Sea"..."Interesting from the beginning! Loved it." In 2009, Smith was runner up in the Song of the Year contest for his track "City In The Sea. He also won 1st Place in the Pro Soul Alliance next great indie artist contest. His winning track “Emotional Explosion” won Canadian hearts by saying..."blew the team at Pro Soul away – there is no doubt this talented young man is an up and coming music sensation for his generation.” Also in 2009, Smith became a very well-known artist with over 30 + raving interviews on Blog Talk Radio. As a spin-off, he launched his own internet radio station, Antoine Smith aka DJ Night Writer Show on Blog Talk Radio to showcase his jazz compositions. To rap it up, Smith was written in Eroica 2010 Catalogue for History of Records for his release, “All That Jazz.” Antoine Smith's music ranges from jazz/world/pop/j-pop/rhythm & blues/rap/hip-hop and nu-jazz. Pseudo name as a producer is DJ Night Writer. Smith's rap/hip-hop, and rhythm & blues is popular for his originals and remakes on Youtube that many local and indie rappers frequently use for their mix-tapes. Smith was born Aug. 1, 1992 (BMI member) is a composer, songwriter, drummer, keyboardist, singer, rapper, producer, and engineer of jazz and other genres. The 6’1” underrated artist produced 11 jazz albums from age 15. 2008 - 2012, compilations such as; “All That Jazz,” “Project A,” “The Drifter,” “Wallflower,” “Daydream,” and “Mythical” were under an independent label Turn On Records, which was a subsidiary of EROICA. In 2012, EROICA lost their indie label due to financial complications which concluded all their artists. Influences: Chris Botti, Hiroshima, Paul Hardcastle, The Rippingtons, Miles, Coltrane, The Runners, Cool And Dre, Drumma Boy, Justice League, KanYe West, et al. Smith was brought up in the neighborhoods of Cleveland, Ohio with his mother and brother, which he claims "music was greatly inherited." His mother, a singer and musician was once married to his father, a multi-instrumentalist -- both were a dual team of performers and songwriters. As a contributor, his older brother composed a few songs on his Jazz compilations. Earlier in his school days, he was selected in the honors band, jazz band and later joined the marching band where he played multiple percussions; quads, tenor, snare, bass drum, a drum-set, and congas. Smith was also an all-around athlete in his schools, as well as, his community — he participated in football, basketball, softball, track, and x-country. Studied music theory at Tiamoyo Arts and Education with Dr. Sharon Brown-Cheston, and studied drum sheet music with his Maple Heights School District teachers Mr. Nicholas Puin (graduate of The Berklee College of Music) and Mr. Michael Janowitz (graduate of Cleveland State University). As a child, Smith once dabbled on the piano at his late grandfather’s (a reverend, radio minister, singer, rhythm guitarist, organist, and pianist) church. Listening to Smith’s radio interviews on Blog Talk Radio, he tells a story..."when his grandfather passed, a keyboard was delivered a day after the funeral. The story unfolds that his grandfather ordered the keyboard before his passing to have it especially delivered to Smith. According to Smith’s full story, it was his brother that played the keyboard which threw him into shock that his grandfather may had known his future. But by Smith being very young at the age of 6 years old and caught up in his grandfather’s death, eventually later, Smith decided at the age of 14 years old to become a songwriter.” Smith’s music is located on popular national and international sites: Record Union, Youtube, Myspace, Reverbnation, Top Music Japan, Amazon, Emusic, iTunes, Artistdirect, Bestbuy, Rhapsody, Wantitall, Google Play, Last.fm, Xiie, Allmusic, MusicaTono, Borders, CD universe, CDbaby, Twitter, Facebook, et al.
