There are at least two bands called Apostate: 1) Apostate was a technical metalcore band from Prague, Czech Republic. Apostate was a relatively young band based in Prague, Czech Republic. Formed in September, 2008 by five Russian guys passionate about music and willing to create something different from what was going in the local scene at that moment and with member’s age ranging from 18 to 21 years, the band surprisingly quickly started writing its own material and playing gigs. Soon after releasing their first EP entitled “Traits” (which was uploaded in full length to their myspace and was also available for a free download) Apostate has officially become talk of the town not only in Prague, but also in whole Czech Republic, which led to them playing the shows all over the country. They got the chance to share stage with such bands as A Plea for Purging, Texas In July, War from a Harlots Mouth, Arsonists Get All the Girls, Yashin, Billy the Kid, Salt the Wound, Here Comes the Kraken and Show Your Teeth. In June, 2010, Apostate, realizing the necessity to record new tracks as they turned out to be so different from their old material, started recording their new EP entitled “Seaborne”. The main goal of the band was not only to capture what Apostate was at that moment - musically and lyrically, but also make a record that would stand-out not only in Czech Republic, but in whole Europe and basically any place where it would be listened to. In order to achieve that CD was mixed and mastered in Mangled Studios in Manchester, UK while EP art, new band logo and myspace page was done by the graphic geniuses from Sons of Nero. Apostate was formed in 1993 in Lviv (Ukraine). Their intention was creating dark atmospheric doom metal. The first demo “Consign to Oblivion” was recorded at White Troop studio in 1995. This tape was very well received by Ukrainian underground press and fans. In 1997 appears an EP "A Song of the Dead Lake" which contains four tracks of dark, sorrowful death-doom metal. The band split-up in 1998, all members except Yuri Lesnyi (vocals) formed Forgot Belief. In 1999 Yuri gathered new line-up and continued Apostate, but in 2001 the band finally disbanded. In 2007 compilation "From Consign To Oblivion to A Song Of The Dead Lake" was released. Its positive feedback was the reason why Oleksandr Kostko (bass guitar) decided to resurrect Apostate in January 2009. In 2010 a new album called "Trapped in a sleep" was released.
