Asa Martin is a simplification of Asa F. Martin (b. 25 Jun 1900, Winchester, KY, USA - d. 15 Aug 1979, Irvine, KY), an old time musician / singer / guitarist who made many recordings, from the early 1920s to the early 1940s. Martin was closely associated with renowned fiddle player Dock Philipine Roberts (aka Doc Roberts and Fiddlin' Doc Roberts), for whom he played rhythm guitar. In turn, Roberts frequently played mandolin on Martin's recordings. Singer James Roberts (Doc's son), also joined the pair in the Doc Roberts Trio. Sites: Discogs and Wikipedia Read more on Last.fm.
