Lineup: Nicolai Munch-hansen (bass) Jakob Bro (guitar) Jakob Dinesen (sax) Jeppe Gram (drums) web: www.jakobbro.com/ Formed in the late 90s, Beautiful Day has turned out to be a central meeting point and artistic playing field for saxophone player Jakob Dinesen, guitarist Jakob Bro, bassist Nicolai Munch-Hansen, and drummer Jeppe Gram. Since the band’s debut the individual members have all been engaged in various projects and constellations, playing everything from rock and pop to avant-garde, old school jazz and electronica – still Beautiful Day has remained a core activity to them, and so far the activities of this combo have resulted in four quite different albums. Listening to Beautiful Day’s releases, one finds a natural progression from an early rock-inspired sound and attitude to a deliberate change in the direction of a more subtle and acoustic scenario.
