There is more than one artist with this name: 1.) An alternative/psychedelic rock band from Seattle, WA, USA. 2.) An alternative pop/rock band formed in Auckland, New Zealand in 2009. 1.) Black Science is a band from Seattle, WA, USA. Genres: psychedelic, indie, alternative, experimental, rock. Black Science’s music is derived from three major sources: personal powers of the soul/mind/body (mesmerism, astral projection, thought-casting, etc.), powers gained by tapping this universe’s ambient magical energy and employing it for specific effects (teleportation, illusion-casting, energy projection), and finally, powers gained through the tapping of extra-dimensional energy by invoking entities or objects of power dwelling in mystical dimensions, tangential to our own. The latter means of power is usually gained by the recitation of spells; either ritualized ones found in various mystic texts or by original spells invoking extra-dimensional assistance. Links: Facebook, Bandcamp, MySpace PRESS: "Black Science sounds like Jane's Addiction and Sleep teamed up circa 1992 and ran tape on a several day jam session fueled by mescaline and cocaine. It's brighter than doom but doesn't cross over into sissy territory. You've got low-ass, heavy riffs counterbalanced with clear vocals and flashy drums ran through the "lo-fi" machine and it sounds like a party in the sixth dimension. Dig that." -- MATT ABRAMSON, Seattle Rock Guy (www.seattlerockguy.com) "Seattle-based Black Science encase and uncoil heavy, driving lines of psychedelic rock. Their song "Consensus of Rapids" puts your ear-brain in a steel hull. The foursome of John G., A.D., Reverend Ryk, and nimble sledge-drummer G pull you through torrents to a distortion crescendo of white-water noise. Sonically dark and weighty, Black Science swell with meters and phaser-effected guitars similar to those of the band Trans Am." -- TRENT MOORMAN, The Stranger (www.thestranger.com) "...an extra-brainy scifi psychedelic rock act that is primed for a wider audience." -- (www.seattlerockguy.com) Members John G - guitar, vox, gadgets, sorcery Adam Draeger - guitar, vox, keyboards, tomfoolery Reverend Ryk - bass, keyboards, badassery g. eichler - beats, brewmastery Record Label: DMI 2.)
