Black Cat Revival (BCR), has been appropriately dubbed by the media as Modern Pop Music's Evil Twin. Dark, theatrical rock; deep hooks & poetic verse backed by solid jazz-influenced musicianship, enhanced by a powerful multimedia live show. Be afraid, be amused, be entertained. Fans of progressive, alternative, and art rock, metal, pop and avant-garde jazz all find a friend in Black Cat Revival. The members of the band come from separate states around the United States, but somehow ended up together in a basement at the start of 2001 and started scribbling on the walls. They are Jason Schurtz on drums, Lawrence Desilets on keyboards & backup vocals, Bill Jordan on lead vocals, and Scott Lambridis on bass. Influences include (in no particular order) Nick Cave, Ween, NIN, Fantomas, Medeski Martin & Wood, The Mars Volta, Mr. Bungle, Tom Waits, Primus, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Beck, King Crimson, David Bowie, John Zorn, Black Sabbath, Soul Coughing, Angelo Badalamenti, Beck, Jeff Buckley, The Mahavishnu Orchestra, Jethro Tull, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Self, Frank Zappa, Massive Attack, Portishead, Leon Redbone, Tool, Gogol Bordello, Tenacious D, The Pogues, Barry Adamson, Bjork, RL Burnside and many others.
