Born For Battle is no more... Since early 2004, Born For Battle have been playing shows locally, building up their fan base and trying to write music that they all love and believe in. After recording a demo in winter 2004 that turned out to be quite a disappointment, they decided not to go through the hassle and expense of releasing songs that they weren't proud of, and instead just posted them on the internet. The boys continued to write new music for their upcoming album, and as they grew as a band, they realized the style of music they were writing was changing, and they were growing tired of the online songs that were becoming less and less an accurate reflection of the style of music they were wanting to play. After a reclusive 4 month period of writing and perfecting new songs, BFB began work in the studio but were slowed by countless unexpected delays and were unable to complete the album by the deadline they had anticipated. With their winter mini-tour of the lower mainland approaching faster and faster, the boys were swamped with things to get done and endless worries of growing expenses. Then, as if things weren't already overwhelming enough, guitar player and close friend Simon Gooder decided to leave the band for personal reasons; an obstacle that not only came out of the blue, but could not have happened at a worse time. Luckily for them, a close friend of the band, Damien Moore, was ready and willing to do what he could to help fill in, and he did such an impressive job filling the position that the guys all agreed he would be a welcome addition to the band. After a few months as a full band they all agreed that BFB wasnt right for Damien, and he wasnt quite what they needed for a guitar player. Born For Battle plans to start fresh and re-record with Jay Balehowski, with a release date set for somewhere in early fall 2006 followed by continuous touring to support. Born for Battle released the album "Bruised but not Broken" and continued to tour before announcing that they were breaking up near the end of '07, they played their final show in Calgary, Alberta. www.myspace.com/bornforbattle Read more on Last.fm.
