CRS (Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West & Pharrell)

Child Rebel Soldier, or CRS, is a musical group composed of hip hop artists Lupe Fiasco (the Child), Kanye West (the Rebel) and Pharrell Williams (the Soldier). Their first single, "Us Placers", appeared on Kanye's mixtape, Can't Tell Me Nothing, released in May 2007. To date, the members have not decided whether CRS will exist beyond Us Placers, but they have not dismissed the idea. According to an interview with Lupe Fiasco, there are plans for a CRS album in late 2009 or early 2010. He said the trio of CRS would have three different elements to it: an album, music videos and a tour. The group was also featured on the remix to N*E*R*D's song Everyone Nose. They were labeled as Child Rebel Soldier on the song instead of their separate entities, and this is the second song where they use their group name. "Everyone's focused on something else at the moment", Lupe recently explained in an interview with Pitchfork. "We are trying to find two or three weeks to sit down and hammer it out". The song "Us Placers" was #43 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Best Songs of 2007. On January 29, 2008, it was announced on Kanye West's blog that the three artists would be touring later in the year together. The "Glow in the Dark Tour" will consist of Kanye West, Rihanna, Lupe Fiasco and N*E*R*D (Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo, Shay Haley).
