Moscow band Calmed By The Tides Of Rain (CBTTOR) has been formed by Artyom (vocals) and Alexander (drums: Violent Coldness) in the summer 2008 and rapidly began searching for other musicians. Originally the band planned to play downtempo metal/hardcore in vein of Suffokate, Emmure, The Acacia Strain, concentrating on brutal vocals and groovy basis. The long searches have ended successfully: Alexander (ex-One Of The Words) and Dmitry (ex-All Opressions Of The Inner Essence, ex-Emo Pigs) joined the band. Searches of the second guitarist were unexpectedly long, and only in the winter 2009 Vladislav (I Wish You Were Here) became the second guitarist. So this is the original line-up for Calmed By The Tides Of Rain. The sound has partially changed under the influence of such acts as The Yellow Sign, The Ocean, The Contortionist, and now you can hear some post-metal and sludge fragments in the music, so the style of CBTTOR has evolved, but still it hasn't gone far from the roots. The first release - Self-Titled EP was mastered on Anthropocide Studio, was out on November 16 2009 and at once has received plural positive responses in the internet, as a result the band got an offer from a large Saint-Petersburg label to release a full-length album. Now the band is occupied by preparation of the concert set, and also composing the material for the LP, which is planned to be released on the second half of 2010. Read more on Last.fm.
