Capacities is an aggressive screamo quartet from New Jersey formed in February 2012, featuring Eric Mauro on guitar/vocals, Thomas R. Schlatter on bass/vocals, Rob Ross on guitar/vocals, Chris Flynn (NJ) on drums. The band's lineage features an incredible roster of amazing bands including Black Kites, Less Life, Birth Screams, The Assistant, This Ship Will Sink, In First Person, You And I, and The Saddest Landscape. Review: There is no Neutral Urgent and frantic, Capacities create a screamo record that packs the complicated, multi-layered instrumentation of post-hardcore into direct, sixty-second hardcore songs, that slam and throttle their own instruments... Beth of MyEndlessMinutes (March 2013) Review: The Unexamined Life Ranked 22 in "Top 40 albums of 2012" list by Sparksandnerve (January, 2013) "Capacities reach back to draw on the undeniable immediacy of first-wave screamo bands without compromising their relevance. Repeated listens expose songwriting clearly utilizing the diverse palette of sounds in modern emo and hardcore, but rarely are those sounds used as effectively as on The Unexamined Life." - sniper01 on sputnikmusic.com (October, 2012) "Yet even as jarring and challenging this disc seems to be at times, it’s been remarkably tough to put down even as the play count grows higher. For a sound that is both melodically satisfying and tactfully gritty, Capacities seem to have all their ducks in a row in terms of displaying their passion and artistic drive in this collection of tracks... the mind-stamping highs of this album are practically haunting in nature – making this a tough shake for the mind of even the most casual screamo enthusiast." - Jason Gardner on Absolutepunk.net (August, 2012) Review: split 7" "Capacities are one of the best new bands out there. So energetic, so passionate, so awesome. They remind me of mid 00′s Screamo, fast, loud, harsh, intense while still feeling very fluid and breathtaking. I want to see this band, scratch that, I NEED to see this band live." - Nathaniel (May, 2012) Discography There is no neutral - Melotov Records and in Europe via Dog Knights Productions (Digital preview: December 2012; 10" Vinyl: March 2013) Split 7" capacities / Coma Regalia - Middle Man Records (Digital Release: May 2012; Vinyl: July 2012) The Unexamined Life LP - How Soon is Now Records and Protagonist Music (Digital Release: March 2012; Limited Edition Vinyl: July 2012) Real Screamo Compilation Vol. 3 - Featured track: "In the Ground" (Digital release: June 2012) Preliminary Recording [Demo] (Digital Release: March 2012) Want to know more about capacities?
