They say persistence pays off. And after six years of paying their dues and taking their licks on Music Row, Carolina Rain appears on their way to making that notion true. A union born in 1999 of a common love for acoustic, harmony-driven music, the Nashville based trio is only now beginning to reap the full benefits of a half-decade of hard work and determination. The band, whose name was derived from the first song they wrote together, is comprised of Rhean (pronounced Wren) Boyer, Jeremy Baxter, and Marvin Evatt . Boyer met Evatt at Nashvilles Belmont University in the fall of 1998 where both worked in security. Soon thereafter, Boyers chance meeting with Baxter occurred at church where both sang in the choir. All three became friends and began working together as a trio perfecting their songwriting, harmony vocals, and performance chops. After a year or two of working in the Nashville music scene, they caught the ear of Equity Music Group president Mike Kraski, who quickly signed the band to a recording contract. With a shot at their dreams now in full view, Carolina Rain released their debut album "Weather The Storm" in September 2006 and is gearing up for the future. So keep your ears open and your finger on the pulse of your local concert scene. Theyre likely coming to a city near you.
