There are several Bands that go by the name Carthage Carthage Is a Progressive Deathce band from the Baltimore, Maryland area. The band is Composed of Lead Guitarist/Vocalist Tre Watson, Guitarist/Vocalist Noyan Tokgozoglu, Rhythm Guitarist Ian Starks, Lead Vocalist Eric Hendricks, Bassist Robby Gossweiler, and Drummer Billy Berger Carthage started in 2007 when Tre watson , Jay kent and a previous guitarist decided a band would be a good idea to follow. The band played a large number o local shows until finally Releasing their Debut Self-titled EP in 2011. Their debut full length album Salt the Earth was released in 2012. The band continues to play locally and is looking or more ways to get their music out. http://www.facebook.com/Carthageband Damian Bennett formed carthage (preferably written as all lower or all upper case) in October 1997 in Handsworth Birmingham. Original recordings were done on a Tascam 4 track. The carthage website was established which sought to be non-specific and non-literal as possible and came to the attention of Apple HQ in California who featured it in 1997. A tape (and later minidisc) compilation was sold via the website at this time. Beats were gradually introduced and 'Lo Flying Asreal' was an example of this (for the Misanthropic Agenda label compilation) as well as 'Watch Daddy' which was recorded for irritant records, London. Moving to Bristol, carthage used visuals live, for example at a gig with Minotaur Shock at the Cube Cinema in Bristol (and later in Europe). This visual element became integral and was further enhanced with collaboration with Chris Turner AKA Pho who compiled DVD imagery and graphic art as well as music from this point on. carthage and pho opted to name their collaboration 'Twin Valley Falls' (AKA TVF). 'Self Imposed Exile Session 2000' was a self-financed release which originated from a prompt by a promoter in Japan and was done in two mixing sessions, both first take and included tracks and segments by Pho, Ocosi (featuring Mothboy) and Alan Lamb. This album was sold SOR in local shops and via the internet. irritant offered to release it on a larger scale so all tracks were re-recorded from scratch and recompiled or scrapped. The album was called '23:64pm' and was released in dual capacity by irritant and TVF. It included contributions by Pho (who also designed cover), Eugene Robinson (Oxbow) and Rose For Bhodan. carthage (now based in Bedfordshire) has worked on much follow-up material since '23:64pm' as well as working with the NORDUK collective (which consists of Mothboy, Dancon 1, Stormcrow, Blaubac, Electrofant and Qrt). 2010: The music is much more guitar and vocal-based, designed to work even if no power on stage. The set now includes a few covers: Scott Walker, dBridge, Max Merrit to name a few. wearecarthage.com http://soundcloud.com/carthagevisors http://soundcloud.com/carthagevisorsdeux http://soundcloud.com/carthagevisorsbutcher/sets/butcher www.myspace.com/carthagecarthagecarthage book (contains strong language): http://tinyurl.com/yzyxu9t Read more on Last.fm.
