In 1976, young beginning singer Catherine Ferry represented France with the song "1,2,3 " composed by Tony Rallo and written by Jean Paul Cara . France, as many countries ' juries, is seduced by this young beautiful golden hair singer who ranked well high...second in the contest. Among the backing vocals of Catherine, the band Melodie SA, Guy Balavoine, Patrice Schreider, Bernard Serré and a young singer, Daniel Balavoine. He composed the B side single 'Petit Jean'. He found in Catherine's voice a vocal alter ego After the contests, radios, TVs, shows in France, in Europe, in Japan and in Tokyo at the Yamaha festival, Catherine Ferry recorded several singles and an album at Barclay, one of the greatest French record companies of this time and under the honourable artistic production of Léo Missir, In 1981, Daniel introduced Catherine to Bernard de Bosson, CEO of WEA / France. In 1982, the song "Bonjour, Bonjour" was released at WEA with the lyrics written by Linda Lecomte and the music of Balavoine..a big success In 1983, Catherine sang in the musical fairy tale "Abbacadabra" written by Alain Boublil, based on Abba's songs. At the same time, she recorded the song 'Grandis pas'. In 1984 , the album, Catherine Ferry was released at WEA on which we can find 'Vivre avec la Musique'... an other success. For the producing of this L.P, the already famous Andy Scott devoted all his ears and his art to Catherine's voice who gave life to Daniel, Joe Hammer, Michel Rorive 's musics, and to Linda Lecomte, Francis Wauthers, Bernard Balavoine, Patrick Dulphy and Daniel 's lyrics. In 1986, life didn't permit to Daniel to write the French lyrics of a song he wrote for Frida of Abba “The Face” whose he wanted Catherine to make a French version and it is Jean-Jacques Goldman who wrote the lyrics to give birth to "Quelqu'un quelque part". In 1988, Dany Darras (ex member of the band Presence and producer of the F.R David ‘s song ”Words") composed with Robert Fitoussi “Rendez-vous” and “Manille” with Basile Leroux, one of the greatest French guitar players. Joëlle Kopf (« Femme Libérée » of Cookie Dingler « and « Adam et Yves » of Zazie) wrote the lyrics. More informations at http://myspace.com/catherineferry Read more on Last.fm.
