Charlie Straight

"Catchy vocals and poppy mellow melodies" Charlie Straight uploaded their first demos on the net... After being picked as "the band of the week" by the Czech largest band database, the owner of the website became their producer. With him, they recorded an album through the summer and autumn of 2007. Most of the mixing was done by Dušan Neuwerth who has collaborated with numerous international acts and spends his time working all over the world. The debut album entitled She's a Good Swimmer is now ready with a fine booklet and a new website to be launched by the end of May 2009. Strongly infuenced by the British music scene, the band was established by four school mates in August 2006. Since then, they have managed to play at most major festivals in the Czech Republic (e.g. Colours of Ostrava 2008, Planet Festival etc.) and to perform several times on TV (e.g. Noc s Andělem). With a self-made music-video for a song entitled Shall We Have a Baby (on YouTube), they won a nation-wide music video competition called "Garážmistr." In autumn 2008, they supported one of the biggest acts on the Czech music scene - Kryštof . This meant learning a lot and proving themselves in front of a new audience. On the 5th of April, Platonic Johny Music Video Premiere took place in Prague's Chapeau Rouge. There, the manager of Hard Rock Cafe in Prague, Mr. Mo Capatia, saw Charlie Straight and was impressed. He invited the band to play at the brand new venue. On the 17th of June, the CD Release Party Gig takes place at the FABRIC in Ostrava. Listen to them on myspace. Read more on Last.fm.
