Charmin' Children (1990-1993) was a young indie rock band from Hulst, a small town in the Dutch province of Zeeland. Heavily influenced by the 'Madchester'-sound of the late 80s, they released one studio LP: (0)1140, named after the telephone area code for Hulst. Charmin' Children were: John Lamens: vocals, guitars JB Meijers: guitars Evelyn Lambert: guitars Ropp Parren: bass Theo de Kreijger: drums The group disbanded when frontman, John Lamens, accepted a steady job as a sound enigineer. He died in 2006 when he fell down a staircase, aged 40. Guitarist JB Meijers went on to gain prominence in the Dutch rock scene. After stints in indie bands Shine and Supersub he enjoyed success with Acda & De Munnik and De Dijk and, as of 2014, even greater success as songwriter, producer and band member in The Netherlands' highly succesful Eurovision Song Contest entry, The Common Linnets. Meijers is also an esteemed record producer. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
