Choo Choo Train were an early incarnation of Velvet Crush, formed by Paul Chastain and Ric Menck. Their distinctive vocal harmonies and jangle guitars were already in place, but the sound is closer to the Paisley Underground sound of the Three O'Clock than the slightly harder, fuzzier, Big Star-styled Velvet Crush.
