Even before the formation of the band its members have been friends for a long time. Each of them already had experience in different styles of music through various projects and on stage. The idea to create the Cobblestones arose from countless jam-sessions in which it soon was clear that out of a huge repertoire folk was the most fun. The special atmosphere and a bit of wanderlust which naturally comes from that music just perfectly fit into the way of life the members of the band prefer. More and more sessions took place and in no time the Cobblestones were born. The name Cobblestones was chosen very quick out of a couple of suggestions because of its ambiguous meanings. For once simply the stones but also botcher which actually really shows the wish to be anything but taken serious. With the goal in mind to dedust and renew the almost forgotten Folkscene to show its great dance and party character the band became more and more known all over Germany and got gigs all over.
