There are at least 3 bands named Cold Comfort: 1) Drawing inspiration from the aesthetics and sound of 80s without losing the sight of actual music, guys from Cold Comfort found their point of contact in late 2012 - under the piercing background humming of analog synthesizers, under the howling of vocalist and guitar player Alex, doomed by social themes and self-exclamations, they began to play rather ominous melodies to the strict yet rhythmic sound of a drum-machine. This is how was born their first EP "Modern Crypts". Shortly after that WornPop label signed the band and released their second EP "Issue De Secours" in 2015. Few years later, they decided to shift the general mood to a warmer side, and also began to flirt more with the electronic music. Now the band is finally on the verge of releasing its first full-length album in an already updated sound. Cold Comfort are cautious about the experiments, and they are tend to play their music with familiar methods while remaining sufficiently original. They are not interested in creating a mediocre material and want each and every track to be unique in its own way. Their music is a reflection of all the previous and current experience of participants who are not limited to one or two genres and constantly discover something new for themselves. 2) Cold Comfort is a four-piece band who has combined dark tones with infectious dance beats to create an electrifying genre. Hailing from Libertyville, Illinois, CC is comprised of Brent (vocals, synth), Drea (guitar, synth), Tyler (bass) and Mark (drums). By drawing influences from a broad spectrum (everything from The Faint to Tool), they've created a sound all their own. Live shows resemble dance parties more than your average rock concert. Then again, this isn't your average rock band. 3) Cold Comfort Ireland With Rob Walsh on vocal, guitar and harmonica, Colm Hassett on drums and percussion, Joey Mcgowan on bass guitar and Eoin 'Mossy' Morrissey on lead guitar, Cold Comfort are a band set to take you on a journey. Their catchy songs tell tales of misspent adventure, lost friends & honest poetic observations on the way we live. They have been together for just over a year and have gathered a dedicated cult following in that time. Their music has been described as “a cocktail of blues, rock & roll and country" but they go beyond these genres to create a funky, foot-stomping, eclectic sound. Last year, they gigged regularly with support slots for Whipping Boy on their Periscopes up tour and Alabama 3 on their recent UK tour (with Rob Co-writing songs for their recent Shoplifting for jesus Album).
