DJ Rudd is Rīga, Latvia-based radio and club deejay, musician and producer specialising in different genres of urban and dance music. Rudd's career started in 1999 when he got the chance to run the school radio station. In 2001, at the age of 17, he became a resident at the legendary Latvian underground club Dizzi House. He then toured the Baltic States, Russian Federation and Austria. In 2005, Rudd was asked to become a resident at the most popular dance venue in Baltic States Club Essential and got a chance to play alongside with such artists as Mark Knight and Crazy Cousinz. Somewhere along the line, Rudd managed to do production work for such labels as Hed Kandi and R2 Records. His production work has been noted also in his homeland. In 2006, Rudd produced the debut album of the band Astro'n'out entitled Kuš Kuš, which received the Annual Latvian Music Recordings Award for the Best Album of 2006. In 2006, Rudd got invited to teach deejaying at Rhythm Institute. It was an honorable acknowledgement of his mixing skills by the only modern music school in Baltic States. Rudd has entered a DJ contest only once. Organised in 2009 by the local franchise of Vodafone he won it. In 2005, he tried his potential at the radio. From that point on he has broadcast shows on four different radio stations. More recently Rudd has been doing a weekly show entitled Broken Beat for DanceRadio.lv (also home of Ben Watt's, Aaron Ross' and Grant Nelson's radio shows). Also just recently, he has been invited to be a weekly broadcaster for Latvia's biggest commercial station Radio SWH. In 2010, Rudd started his collaboration with a local imprint of the globally famous Cosmopolitan magazine. He is the first Latvian DJ to record a mixtape for Cosmo and it features on the January 2010 edition. Later that year, he was invited to do a set at the first Latvian Cosmo Bikini Bash beach party where he met house diva Barbara Tucker. She asked to perform with her at the event. In spring 2010, Rudd toured the United States and got to share the stage with Rhymefest at his Pittsburgh show. http://www.rudd.dj Read more on Last.fm.
