RIP JASON BLOOD Six years of hard work and frustration by upright bassist Deadmike finally manifested itself in the form of Left For Dead in late 2002. Recruiting Ed Gein from the Tucson punk rock trio Scratchingthesurface on guitar and vocals, and Ian and Jericho from Tucson legends Chango Malo on guitars and drums respectively, Mike finally had a band - arguably Tucson's first and only psychobilly outfit. After a few practices and a debut show with none other than the Nekromantix a five song demo was recorded and released locally on Stunning Tonto records. Soon after, Jason Blood was recruited for vocal duties and began making plans to move from Los Angeles back to Tucson to help kick the band into full gear. More shows were played with some great bands including the Slanderin' , The Meteors , Photon Torpedoes , the Ripmen and the HorrorPops . Jason finally made Tucson his permanent home again and quickly the band began rigorously practicing and rocking shows all over Tucson and Phoenix. With a sound described as "West Coast Based Horror Psychobilly", the band forgoes most traditional rockabilly influences and heads more towards straight rock 'n' roll and hardcore influences such as Minor Threat , Nick Cave and Motorhead. In a town known for it's love for rockabilly and cow punk, they bring a much more revved up and straightforward approach to psychobilly.
