The blind guitarist Didier Hébert accompanied accordionist Dewey Segura on just three sides recorded for Columbia in 1929, then recorded his own solo track "I Woke Up One Morning in May" at the same session. Hardly an auspicious career, though the compilation of Hébert's track on Harry Smith's legendary folksong compendium Anthology of American Folk Music gave the Louisiana musician a bit more posthumous fame than most of his '20s-era compatriots. His songs with Segura can be found on the Library of Congress compilation Songs of Love, Courtship and Marriage. Read more on Last.fm.
