German flutist Dieter Weberpals is well-known for his work with his band "Argile" which is combining African music with jazz & rock elements but he enjoys as well playing music from other parts of the world too. He composes meditative music, very often inspired by japanese or indian flute music. With Argile e met a lot of great African artists on scene like djembe master-drummer Famoudou Konate, who contributes also on the 4th Argile-album, Djembe-master Drissa Kone from Mali who is playing on the new album, singers like Guinean Sona Diabate, Aicha Kouyate, Sona Tata Conde or Oumou Mariko from Mali - even famous Oumou Sangare appeared on stage as guest with "Argile". He did as well a jam-session with Argile & th world wide known "Farafina" at Bobo Dioulasso on their tour in Africa which was recorded for the German TV. He is also appearing with many other artists like "Rainer Seiferth & Ocho Herzios" from Spain, he recorded with El Houssaine Kili from Morocco or with the Czech singer Pavla Kapitanova, he played in former times with the German underground bands (krautrock-psychodelic) "Gebärväterli" and occasionally with "Embryo". more infos: www.weberpals-flute.de Read more on Last.fm.
