Currently there are at least 3 bands using the name Discourse. 1) Discourse is a straight edge hardcore band from Columbia, South Carolina. http://www.facebook.com/discoursehardcore http://www.discourseXXX.bandcamp.com 2) Discourse is a two-piece pop band currently based in Philadelphia, PA. Inspired by an urban legend that describes seminal cultural philosopher Michel Foucault as "that fucked-up guy dancing in the corner", they formed in the fall of 2009 and quickly wrote the songs that make up their first release, the Golden Year EP. More information can be found at discourseband.bandcamp.com and www.myspace.com/discourseband. 3) Hailing from Layton, Utah, Discourse began refining their experimental-rock sound in the early fall of 2005. Comprised of Mike Henderson (vocals, drums, samples), Chase Dawes (bass), and Jordan Dawes (guitar, loops/midi), the power trio has finally released their debut EP almost three years later with the help of Jay Henderson (Band of Annuals) who produced the latest studio EP (2008). Discourse is dramatic, emotive and melodic, with haunting guitars that will echo in your bones. Check out myspace. com/discourse for their debut EP, new songs and upcoming shows.
