Doe Eye, also known as Maryam Qudus, was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, a place she holds very close to her as not only her home but also her muse for creativity as an artist. Doe Eye has always had a genuine interest in the culture of the Bay Area, especially in the nights spent as a teenager soaking in the musical ambiance of her favorite bands at Bottom of the Hill, Slims, the Fillmore and the Greek Theatre. It was the experiences within the artistic and musical culture of her home that have been a key inspiration for her to become a musical performer and pursue self-expression in her most authentic light. Doe Eye picked up the guitar at the age of twelve and ever since has been faithful to her passion to pursue music as her career and her lifestyle. Along with both electric and acoustic guitar, she has also found her niche among the keys of the piano as well. Doe Eye has always had a heart for music and one thing that has always remained was her unique tone of elegant eccentricity that gives her such an intriguing sound. Doe Eye has taken her passion for music seriously and is currently studying at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Doe Eye has released her first EP album, “Run Run Run” in late August of 2011 along with her first music video for her hit single “I Hate You”, which aired on San Francisco's biggest alternative radio station, LIVE 105, the week it was released. In the making is her full-length album, aiming to be released in the year of 2012 as she continues on her adventure to harness her music career and further develop as a person as well as a musician. “I’m just being myself” she said. “And it’s amazing that people appreciate that and genuinely believe in me.” Read more on Last.fm.
