First of all, the world DUBSINTHE comes from two other words: DUB + ABSINTHE = DUBSINTHE. So that's the whole meaning of it! Dubsinthe was founded in St.Petersburg, Russia in 1998. It represents the synthetic mix of electronic sound together with different live instruments, percussion and vocals. The main mastermind of the band is Atomfear (Yuri Ivanov), who took part in many different festivals and live shows together with such well known musicians as Coil, Mu-Ziq (Warp records), Fizzarium, Local Spirit, Klutch, Polus and many others. Discography: Dubsinthe has released some cds on its own label Atom Records and took part in some compilations such as: "Invisible Power Of Electronics" (Zvezda Records) "Electrobit" (Other Culture Records) In 1999 Dubsinthe did the “Snow” remix for the official COIL “Remixes” album. After that Dubsinthe was noticed by the other legendary band MEAT BEAT MANIFESTO from Nothing Records, who invited Dubsinthe to make a remix for their song “Satyricon”. In different periods of time the line-up was filled with the live musicians, who come from the well known russian alternative bands Scang, Musica Radicum and others: Atomfear - Samples Kraft – Bass, Effects Nikolay Evdokimov - Guitar Gnom – Percussion Viktor Ribalsky – Digeridu, Pipes, Percussion Amina Kublanova - Violin Igor Monahov - Keyboard Igor Mamonov – Vocal Zima Tref - Vocal Festivals with DUBSINTHE: «Other culture», St.Petersburg, Russia (13.04.03) «Global Warning», St.Petersburg, Russia (16.05.03) «EthnoLife», St.Petersburg, Russia, Open-Air (21.06.03) «EthnoLife», St.Petersburg, Russia, Open-Air (18.07.03) «Improsila-2», St.Petersburg, Russia (19.07.03) «Vibrofonia», St.Petersburg, Russia (2002) «Forts» St.Petersburg, Russia, Open-Air (2001) «Free Flight 1/2/3», St.Petersburg, Russia (1999-2000) «Experimental Noise Sound 2000», Berlin, Germany (with Coil, Mu-Ziq, Panasonic) «Experimental Noise Sound 2000», Estonia, Tallin (with Coil, Mu-Ziq) «Heiliger Feuer! 1/2» St.Petersburg, Russia (1999-2001) (with Deutsch Nepal, Der Blitharsch, Genocide Organ) Artists who shared the stage with DUBSINTHE: Mu-Ziq (UK) ?oil (UK) Panasonic (Finland) The Aggression (USA) Deutsch Nepal (Sweden) Der Blitharsch (Austria) Genocide Organ (Germany) Pink Twins (Finland) Cleaning Women (Finland) Syntetika (RU) Caribace (RU) Netslov (RU) Tenzor (RU) Alexandroid (RU) Fizzarum (RU) Vesna (RU) 2H Company (RU) Read more on Last.fm.
