(For the punk rock band see: The Eat) Clearly, there are 3 different bands called "Eat" on this page. So don't just listen to Crossroads & check out the other snippets. The English one, are London based led by singer Ange Dolittle, who started out as a band devoted to the sound of Louisiana. Their Debut album Sell Me A God (Fiction, 1989), line up, along with Dolittle was Peter Howard on drums, Tim Sewell on Bass, Paul Noble on guitar & lyrics & Max Noble on guitar. The second album was called Epicure. Due to Dolittle's addiction, Eat disbanded and took a while to reform. A line up change ensued, losing the Nobles & gaining Jem Moorshead & Max Lavilla, both on guitar. The singles Golden Egg, Bleed Me White and Shame announced the new sound of Epicure (Fiction, 1993), that relies on pop and folk-rock more than their first. A third album (well... fourth really) was demoed at Abbey Road, but again not released. Ange went on to form We Know Where You Live with The Wonder Stuff minus Miles Hunt, then Big Yoga Muffin with Pim Jones, & is currently fronting Dolittle with 2 guys called Mr.G & Rich. Miles Hunt produced album has just been released. A second album was released in 2013. Eat have since reformed for a couple of sell out gigs at The Half Moon in Putney with a similar line up to before but without Max. Malcolm Treece, formerly of The Wonder Stuff, was added. The punk band was from Florida, and released the stellar "Communist Radio" 7" (b/w Catholic Love) by hurling all 500 copies at the crowd. Somehow, some of them found their way onto the famed Killed By Death compilation series One more group called EAT (this time in capitals) to add to the mix. This time it is the pairing of Morten Cargo & At Ease who together produce killer techno for the Berlin based Diamonds & Pearls Music, a label which plays home to Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Henrik Schwarz, Matt john, Sleeparchive, Cassy and Dimbiman.
