Stiv Kahlina known as El Bahattee was born on 23.03.1979 in Zagreb, Croatia. Growing up in Zagreb's Dubrava, struggling with a bad financial and family situation were the foundations which later on gave him the well known edge to his lyrics. The basketball team which he founded when he was sixteen and writing rhymes helped him get through rough times. His love for hip-hop music resulted in meeting and joining the local team with similar affinities for that kind of music. He met General-Wu and the guys from the group Young Lords. They help him to make important contacts with hosts of the radio show called "Blackout", Frx and Phat Phille. He started his career as a guest on the cult début album of the group "Tram 11" on the songs ''Pismo 1'', ''Pismo 2'' and ''Crna Kronika". He also played a key role on the album "Blackout 00". His talent was recognized by the publishing house "Dallas Records", and in the fall of 2000, Bahattee signed a label contract with them. The fabulous début ''Svaki Pas Ima Svoj Dan'' saw the light of day on his 23rd birthday: 23.3.2001. The first single from that album ('Svaki Pas Ima Svoj Dan) was met with a very positive reaction from the media, and critics could not find the right words of praise for his album. If we add to all that excellent sales results, we come to the conclusion that it was one of the most successful album débuts ever in this area. After a successful summer tour with the rest of the Blackout Team he was greeted with 2 nominations for the Porin music award, one of them was for the best club/urban album which he won. In the spring of 2002, Bahattee returned with a new sound and new people. The new Bahattee was revealed. Recording began in his living room during the autumn, but was finished in recording studio "25". ''Amen'' was created, masterpiece of modern music. Even more aggressive texts backed by a heavy guitar sound, This Bahattee production caused real confusion. The singles "Drogiraj se'' and "Na balkanski način" took first place on music charts, while the video for the song "Jebanje majke" encountered disapproval from the public and ended up being banned from national television (HRT). In addition of numerous critics praise (again) , his album "Amen" got the Crni Mačak award for the best alternative rock album. During 2004, Bahattee announceв his retirement from music due to bad conditions in the record industry. Sometime during 2006., rumors started to circulate that Bahattee was back and working on new material. To this day nothing has been confirmed, and we are still waiting for his next album.
