Erik Rapp (born on July 6, 1996 in Leksand, Sweden) is a Swedish pop and soul singer. In 2009 at the age of 14, he partook in My Camp Rock, a contest in which young people from Sweden, Denmark and Norway interpret songs from the TV movie Camp Rock as of 2008. Erik Rapp began his music career in Sweden during year 2011, when he participated in "Lilla Melodifestivalen 2011" (Swedish selection for Junior Eurovision Song Contest) with the song "Faller" (released in English as "U Got Me Goin' Crazy). Rapp won the Swedish final and was selected to represent Sweden in "Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2011" in Yerevan, Armenia. In the JESC final, Rapp finished on 9th place. On November 23, 2011, weeks before Junior Eurovision Song Contest, he released the single "U Got Me Goin' Crazy", which is the English version of his song "Faller". Same week, on November 29, he released another single "Gimme U'r <3 Back 2 Me". On June 21, 2012 Rapp released the single "Chemistry", a duet song with the Russian Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2011-participant Катя Рябова (Katya Ryabova). The duo were invited to perform the song live in the final of the Russian selection for JESC 2012. The single including both a English version and a bilingular version in Russian and English. In the spring of 2013, Erik Rapp applied to the Idol 2013 (season 9) audition held in Stockholm. He was qualified to the second round and qualified to the Qualifying Heat later during the autumn. He passed during "Qualifying Heat 1" on September 16, 2013 and later managed to take one of the 12 final places to the weekly finals on September 20. During Weekly Final 9, TV4 and Universal Music AB gave Eric (and the other three participants) the opportunity to release a single on Universal Music AB. The single "Wild", composed by Oscar Holter, was a Spotify exclusive release released on November 22. The song hit 300.000 listeners during the first week, and was the most listened song of the four remaining participants.
