Essence Of Aura Real Name:James Mitton-Wade, Ian Scott and Tim Grantham Profile:Essence of Aura were based in Coventry in the early 90's.One of the u.k's First drum and bass producers cutting up breaks in early 1990 and playing them out at raves even before releasing vinyl. They performed at many raves between 1990 and 1995, including Amnesia House, Quest, The Eclipse, The Edge, Fibre-optic, New Age and Pandemonium, to name a few. They were also named as The Midlands number 1 live p.a by Pandemonium. Jumping Jack frost pointed them out in Muzik Magazines 10 years of acid house article, along with Carl cox as the most important artists of 1994 in U.k jungle. They also featured MC Hifi who was resident MC at the famous Edge club in Coventry. Essence of Aura also held parties back in the day including the first ever party in Kenilworth in January 91 under the name Insomnia and featured DJ Ratty, DJ Pepsi and also gave DJ Fallout of "Tango and Fallout" fame her debut gig. They were regulars at the famous Eclipse and The Edge in Coventry and were an active part of the rave scene in Coventry's hey day and pioneers of early forms of the English drum and bass movement. Unfortunately the band dispanded in 1996.
