Fake Tapes were an indie rock band from Prague, Czech Republic with a Placebo-like sound. They started playing in 2006 as Big Cheese but decided to change their name to Fake Tapes a year later. Also, the members of the band were changing a lot. The final formation consisted of Adam Piaf as a singer, Adam LittleRoot as a guitarist, Csaba as a bassguitarist and Chico Torres as a drummer. Their lyrics and music are mostly written by Adam Piaf, however, some of the lyrics come from the ex-drummer Kaki. All the members were about 20 years old at the time, they all had a big skill with their instruments and a lot of experience on the stage as well. The band split in 2010. Their shows were full of emotions and energy. They switch slow pop-rock ballads with dirty fast punk songs. The singer Adam gave all of his energy and emotions into the every gig, doesn't matter on the situation. The guitarist Adam LittleRoot made everybody jump and dance. The bass-guitarist Csaba maybe have not been moving much, but his playing style was definitely a part of the band. And lastly, the drummer Chico had energic wild playing style with a lot of emotions and feelings. They were four talented young musicians with a lot of inspiration and ideas. They had many gigs in the Czech Republic with bands such as The Prostitutes, Roe-Deer (where Chico played drums for some time) or The Bianca Story and they also appeared at the line-up of Planet Festival and other Czech or foreign festivals. Fake Tapes released their debut album called Just Like Superheroes in autumn 2008. Adam Piaf started a new acoustic project – Calm Season – with Terezie Kovalová in 2011. Read more on Last.fm.
