A Legendary Group, Fantastic Something. After years of voluntary confinement return the brothers Constantin Veis and Alex Veis ( The Waving Tree ) with a disc priceless - despite not kept intact all pieces- by expected, dreamed and desired, to deny it. New generations of pop fans should move this work and be novelty trinkets. Yes sir, this Well Educated Greek duo (Originally, they were born in Boston, USA) display an insurmountable bucolic, melancholy, summer and pastoral pop ambition to their music. From Cherry Red first and later from White and Black / WEA, Fantastic Something reached resonance in the eighties for his pop classic cut If She Doesn't Smile (It'll Rain). To understand, they were sort of Simon & Garfunkel independent but well dressed and well mannered. They had a little (1 album and 2 single) production - mostly due to his perfectionist zeal but inspired many pop groups. The two brothers settled in the UK seven years and assimilated emblems of foreign cultures and architectural studies and cinematic arts in London. Simple mind, uncontaminated, were progressing and gaining notoriety to the point of being considered by Everything But The Girl and exotic flower independent pop-eighties. They finished their journey in UK returned to Athens. And at length album in 1993. Mysteriously expected- half the songs disappeared, Who has them - in 'Songs in a Small Room' five unreleased tracks that should have been part of its second rescue? No One. In a way paliamos misfortune, although it remains the bitter taste of not being able to hear the entire work. The songs are a monument to simplicity. Remember a little Nilsson, told The Bluebells, a Go Betweens Trash Can Sinatras or... Ultimately the Release 'Songs in a Small Room' as well as Fantastic Somethings entire output is oblivious to fads and clichés, beautifully jetlagged and disoriented electronics and technical pollution with beautiful finger-picked and strummed Acoustic/Electric Guitars. Simply Amazing Stuff the group has demonstrated musically... even though their works still remain in mostly obscurity more recognition has come with the passing of time. Read more on Last.fm.
