Singer, composer, and pop and blues sensation, Fariman is truly a musical and performing artist for the 21st Century. Born and raised in Tehran/ Iran, Fariman knew that not even the strict laws and suppressive conditions of his native Iran were going to get in the way of his need to express himself creatively. Influenced by many American/ English artists, most notably his idol Michael Jackson, The beatles and The Bee Gees , Fariman made an early decision to write and sing in english. By the time he was 17, he was performing professionally at local underground clubs. By 20, he was recording his own compositions, while being his own sound engineer. Unable to perform freely and openly in his own country, Fariman found audiences wherever he could. Thinking out of the box, he found new audiences at local embassies, playing for ambassadors from countries such as Brazil, Spain, Germany, and Austria. In the summer of 2008, he was invited to Finland to perform at the Jakobstagger concert, playing to crowds of up to 2,000 over the six day event. He soon became an instant hit which lead to an interview for the local newspaper "Pietarsaaren Sanomat". In the Summer of 2010, Fariman added video producer and director to his list of titles with the release of his first music video, "They Won't Understand", which by Iranian standards, represents a revolutionary jump in production quality. With a budget of $10,000, this video incorporates professional make-up artists and imported costumes, and was broadcast on the International Music Network, IMNWorld.com. This lead to airings on radio stations such as AF Radio, UCLA Radio, and Air Radio, where the solo quickly landed in the top 10 chart for several weeks. Three months later, he released another music video, "LoveSick", which was featured on the program HOT seen on the International Tv Network "Channel 4". Fariman is currently working on his first solo album. Stay tuned... Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
