Final Solutions

A garage/punk band from memphis. Includes Jay Reatard (Jay Lindsay) a prominent figure of the memphis music scene and a member of other memphis area bands including Reatards, Lost Sounds, Terror Visions, Angry Angles, and The Bad Times. While Lindsay was still a member of both the Reatards and the Lost Sounds he began another side project called the Final Solutions. Lindsay’s association with the future members of the Final Solutions began while he was still a teenager. Fighting problems at home, Lindsay opted to take up residence with members of a local band called the Jack Monkeys. While he was rooming with the band he was conscripted to play drums for them at a battle of the bands which was being held at a local fraternity. With Lindsay on drums the band performed a set of Oblivians covers, earning third place overall in the competition. After separating for a number of years the group reformed under the name the Final Solutions and began touring and releasing albums. "Well, back when I was doing the Reatards, I met Zac and we hit it off and became good friends. I was having proablems at home and he gave me a place to live. While living with him and Justice (FS guitarist)(keep in mind I was 16 or 17), I got to hang out and drink and pretend to be grown up. But besides that, they had a bad hardcore band called the Jack Monkeys and I played drums for a battle of the bands at a frat party with them. We did all Oblivians songs and came in in 3rd place.
