This is a jazz-oriented collaboration between drummer Matt Chamberlain, guitarist Bill Frisell, and producers Tucker Martine and Lee Townsend. They are also joined by bassist Viktor Krauss, cornetist Ron Miles and violin/viola player Eyvind Kang. The two producers had a very active hand in the recording of the CD "Floratone": First, Frisell and Chamberlain improvised in the studio, and afterwards, the recordings were cut up, reassembled, and looped by Martine and Townsend to create the basic tunes. Finally Frisell and Chamberlain (and the other musicians) returned to the studio to add melodies and further layers. Read more on Last.fm.
