Former Child Stars – contrary to the name – is not a band comprised of Macaulay Culkin, Corey Haim and that little fat kid from 'Hey Dad'. No, far from it. Rather, FCS is made up of five lovable rogues from Adelaide who play some bitchin' indie pop. To the dismay of a growing legion of Adelaide fans, the boys have moved to Sydney. But those same fans wouldn't begrudge FCS of this opportunity to explode in the Harbour City, as no doubt they will. With a fistful of killer shows and support slots in their sky-rocket (Big Day Out '08 Adel, Come Together Festival, The Panics, Sneaky Sound System, Van She, Cut Off Your Hands, Robyn, and the list goes on…) FCS are readying themselves for a massive year ahead of touring the nation and playing shows in their adopted home of Sydney. Infectious beats? Check. Irresistible hooks? Check. Catchy-as-fuck melodies? Check. Sure, you've heard these superlatives all before, but Former Child Stars has the tunes to back it up sir. The formidable new 'Serotonin City EP' was produced by Scott Horscroft (Silverchair, The Presets, The Panics) at Sydney's Big Jesus Burger studios, Sydney and is out now through Inerta. It is a bold statement of intent - it's catchy, edgy, full of energy and meant to played loud on a Friday night. Much like the band themselves. Read more on Last.fm.
