FormFleisch arised from the fragments of Leipzig's Dark Wave Band "Dead Generation" which at last consisted of guitar player Andreas, keyboarder Ray and bass player Arne. In the year 1999 the three were supplemented by lead singer Nadine and drummer Max. Nevertheless, bass player Arne went away a few months after the band's completition following his own musical conceptions and "Dead Generation" was defective for a second time. After a relatively short seeking period Dorain took over Arne's place on the '4-stringer'. Now the band had finally been whole again and they could blithely start the creating of new songs as well as the seizing of old "Dead Generation" tunes. In consequence of the numerous cast changes and the allied additional musical influences and ideas which were brought along by the band members, it was an entire new beginning which should also be recognizable by a new name. Due to this the birth of "FormFleisch" resulted in spring 2000. The first appearance with new cast and new name approached rapidly and has been denied successfully in April 2000 in Leipzig's Anker Café. Further gigs followed, e.g. at "Schwarze Weihnacht" 2000 in the old catacombs of the club Moritzbastei and at "Schwarze Tanznacht" 2001 in Leipzig's Werk II. In between the band had also finished its first demo cd by independent production. Unfortunately, lead singer Nadine abandoned the band in May 2001. On the strength of that, former bass player Dorain took over the place on the microphone. The search for a new participant on the bass had to start and would take a long time. It ended by the addition of Carschti in December 2001. Then, full of vitality, one started again. All of a sudden FormFleisch stood on stage with new cast as support for Cinema Strange in the Moritzbastei in April 2002 and passed its "baptism of fire" with flying colours. After that, the band members began the recording for their 'Grip' EP which arised from independent production once again. To experience a live performance by FormFleisch in 2002 was among other occations possible at "Atrium Noctis" in Leipzig's Werk II and at the "Herbst-Zeitlos-Festival" on Kriebstein Castle. In November 2002, the 'Grip' EP including the cover artwork had been finished and they started to construct their own homepage which even went online in the same month. The well reached destination for 2003 was playing as many gigs as possible. Moreover, the highlights were for example the appearance in March at the "Dark Age Party" in Hannover's Indiego-Glocksee or the gigs at the "Gothic-Autumn-Nights-Festival III" in Rostock and at the "Herbstnächte-Festival V" on Rabenstein Castle. 2004: Many exciting concerts on different edges of the land, the well visited and self organized FormFleisch birthday party and the recordings for the third independent production in the band's history of the 'Puppet' EP let 2004 become the hugest challenge so far but also the most successful year in the still young FF history. Through the again self organized (Do it yourself!) Record Release Party for the new 'Puppet' EP the most spectacular year up to now should find its crowning conclusion by a concert in Leipzig's Früh Auf… 2005: At the beginning of the year, we organised ten record release parties for the new "PUPPET" EP together with the booking and promotion agency "T.O.D.", amongst others in Bochum's Zwischenfall [Pagan Love Songs Party], in Braunschweig's B 58 [Outsider Party] and in Berlin's Mad'n'Crazy [Skeletal Remains Party]. Ensuing, an auspicious first external appearance took place in Prague's Rock Café, closely followed by the second external gig at the "After World"-Festival in Vevey, Switzerland. In April, FormFleisch took up the recording for a complete album in their own studio. The song "Array" has been released in May on the third "New Dark Age" sampler by STROBELIGHT Records and the song "Batkäver" turned up on the first compilation of Leipzig's underground magazine TRANSMISSION. Nevertheless, FormFleisch and front lady Dorain decided in July to follow separate ways after a collaboration of many years, and the search for new lead vocals began. The last two gigs with Dorain took place in September at Rosslau's Burgnächte and in October at Braunschweig's Outsider Party together with Katzenjammer Kabarett. Numerous reviews of the "PUPPET" EP appeared throughout the year in several web and print magazines. In November, the part on the microphone has finally been taken over by the fully-fledged Teresa. Thus, the work on the longplayer could proceed rapidly. The song "Batkäver" was now also present on "Goth Is What You Make It #5", the compilation of the German GOTHIC magazine, in which appears an interview as well. After a couple of changes, also including a new backing on the bass (Leo), plenty of time of the coming year will be dedicated to the recordings, whereas the live presence shall not be missed out.
