Melodic hardcore/metalcore from Denver, Colarado. Members: Taylor MacNicholas-Vocals Evan Stieduhar-Bass Ryan Hall-Drums Kyle Kaliszewski-Guitar Jeff Minor-Guitar New album IN/FAMOUS out now! Rising from the Mile High City in early 2010, Taylor MacNicholas (vocals), Kyle Kaliszewski (guitar), Ryan Hall (drums), and Evan Stieduhar (bass) formed Forty Fathoms, crafting a style that Denver was lacking. The sound they produced combined heavy, metal-core riffs memorable of Haste The Day and Bring Me The Horizon mixed with the passionate and catchy melodies of A Day To Remember. It was only a matter of time before their first recordings blew up the net, including a cover of Ke$ha's "TiK ToK" that received over 570,000 plays on Myspace. A short time after recording their first songs, Forty Fathoms started to tear up Colorado venues including the Marquis Theatre and The Black Sheep, each time with more fans eager to come check out their slamming, in-your-face performance. Gaining momentum, Forty Fathoms released their debut self-titled EP in November of 2010. The superior song writing and musicianship heard on this album, impressive as it was their first release, naturally gained this young band countless followers. Shortly after releasing this EP, the band realized that in order to take it further they would need a second guitarist. With this in mind they recruited Jeff Minor, a long-time musician and friend. With a full lineup, Forty Fathoms was truly ready to take over the scene. In August of 2011 the band trekked to White Lake, Michigan to record with Joshua Wickman at Dreadcore Productions (Within The Ruins, Knights of the Abyss). The highly anticipated sophomore EP entitled IN/FAMOUS released in January 2012. IN/FAMOUS is filled with raging riffs, memorable choruses, and heavy breakdowns that keep your heart pounding. Forty Fathoms does an incredible job giving each song its own sound and feel, each one different from the last but sure to entertain all. IN/FAMOUS created such a buzz that the band sold out their CD release show with 500+ fans showing up, as well as selling 200 physical copies of the record and 1000 singles online in just a week. Forty Fathoms has sold out the Marquis Theatre on several occasions and played with numerous national acts including Silverstein, The Chariot, Miss May I, Oceano, and also won a battle of the bands to open up for the World War III Tour with Hollywood Undead, Asking Alexandria, We Came As Romans, and D.R.U.G.S. at the legendary Fillmore Auditorium in Denver. The band has been on one short tour with many on the way, so keep an eye out for Forty Fathoms! contact@fortyfathomsband.com Read more on Last.fm.
