GOKIBURI

GOKIBURI is a japanese visual kei band that started its activities in 2012/08/31. The band was founded by 優雅, a notable personality from the visual indies scene during the early 2000s. Like his prior bands, GOKIBURI retains a musical style that is a quirky mix of grainy punk, psychedelic rock, and tongue-in-cheek sarcasm. After his solo project ceased activities in 2005, 優雅 essentially disappeared from the music scene to allegedly 'live cool.' He made a few appearances with former label mate Yayoi (of Vice†Risk, Deadly Sanctuary, La'miss†fairy, etc) and Kenzi (of ∀NTI FEMINISM), but aside from that he was more or less nonexistent. In 2011, 優雅 returned to Ameblo and announced that he was going to be making music again. After announcing some loose details, the session band ＴＨＥ．was formed and released a few demo songs through Youtube. Later that year, it was announced that ＴＨＥ．would turn into GOKIBURI. In 2012, after a Kristie Alley-tier weight loss, the official lineup of GOKIBURI was announced. Additionally, 優雅 opened up another record label entitled 'Feel co. Ltd," which currently has a few other bands signed to it (during the late 90's, he also owned another label called Lucifer's Records). Keeping with his quintessential 優雅-isms, the band's first CD was sold at stores for 10 yen. In 2013, the band released their first album, which was live-distributed. It contained both songs from their first single, 3 new songs, and 9 covers of DEViL KiTTY / 優雅's solo project's songs. After about a year of live activity and live-distributed DVDs, the band embarked on their first 3-month single campaign. These singles were entitled "痛ヒ。(itai)," "辛ヒ。(tsurai)," "苦シヒ。(kurushii)" and were released from January through March of 2014. Additionally, a new guitarist was added to the line-up on March 20th: 一斗 (Kazuto) (ex-XALTEA). 4410 then became the keyboardist. On October 18th, 2014, bassist 汰麗 left the band due to health problems. With his departure, the band also announced that they would be making their major debut signed with For Life Music Entertainment.
