Born in Montana, in the fall of 2006, Goodnight Sunrise went straight to work in the winter of 2007, to write and record their self-produced, debut EP "Close & Counting." As high school receded from the present to the past, "Close & Counting" documents a specifically treasured time. Having known each other for most of their lives as school friends and family, Goodnight Sunrise banded together to break out of their small city and take the world by storm. While other friends went out to work and left home for school, Goodnight Sunrise got in the van. Dan Murphy says, "I think a very strong part of our band is the fact that we've been playing together for so long. We know the members of our band better than our family, and I think that reflects when looking at our tour history and how well we've continued to get along with each other." Goodnight Sunrise has played over 300 shows since the release of their debut EP, left home for 14 Western US tours, and recently returned from their first national tour. This relentless tour schedule has helped "Close & Counting" to sell over 7,500 copies and solidify their fan base across the country. While on the road they have shared the stage with the likes of MAE, Plain White T's, Anberlin, Eye Alaska, Rookie of the Year, Seven Mary Three, Artist vs. Poet, and played select acoustic sets on the 2008 Warped Tour. After creating a wave of support across the country from constant touring, opportunities arrived for major exposure. Goodnight Sunrise has licensed music to MTV's Real World Road Rules Challenge, Bad Girls Club, 16 & Pregnant, and Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The band's DIY work ethic has also garnered them indie spotlight features in Alternative Press and AMP Magazine. Amp Magazine says, "These guys are going places fast. Which is no surprise, this band is just as personable as they are talented, making it that much easier to fall in love with them." Goodnight Sunrise released their newest EP titled, "Stop, Drop, & Roll" on June 23rd. The band will be spending some time working on even more new material before heading back out on the road, looking to stone new audiences with their hard-hitting live show, and poppy, polished rock.
