GROOM are a band from Dublin, Ireland who (these days) play music that sits somewhere between Indiepop and Classic Rock. Beginning life in 2004, GROOM released 'Stitch', a ''little bit folk, little bit electronic'' mini-album centred around the songwriting of Michael Stevens. After a slew of single/e.p releases and compilation appearances, 2006 saw the release of GROOM’s first album proper, 'All This Happened, More Or Less' on Fairview House Recordings. A new e.p on Chicago's Tight Ship Records is due in Spring 2009. With various musicians making an appearance from time to time at gigs and on records, the core GROOM line-up is a now a five piece of Michael Stevens (guitar, vocals, synths), Jeroen Saegeman (guitar, synths, melodica), Wil McDermott (bass, synths), Brian O’Higgins (drums), and Ruan Van Vliet (drums, percussion, synth, autoharp). GROOM have shared stages with Jeff Tweedy (Wilco), Evangelicals, Suburban Kids With Biblical Names, Jawbone, Viking Moses, Deanna Varagona (Lambchop), The Spook of the Thirteenth Lock, Mumblin' Deaf Ro and many more.
