Heaven Grey is a gothic doom metal band formed in 1993 in Riga, Latvia. The band started playing death metal band but then moved on to doom metal. They soon became one of the most famous bands in Latvian metal underground. The band released the first demo titled "Under the Grey Clouds" in 1994, followed by a second demo titled "Memory River" in 1996. In 1998 they released the first full-length album titled "Northwind". The lyrics were in English and in Latvian. The band broke up in 1999. Guitarist Sigvard Blazhevich died in 2004. Lead vocalist Ansis Melderis died on 24th September, 2005 in a motorcycle accident. The remaining members of Heaven Grey - Vjačeslavs, Ervīns and Ernests have re-united with friends - Andrejs (bass) and Vladimirs (guitar) to make a commemoration concert for their passed-away colleagues in April 2007. Now, after many changes of band members Heaven Grey has become an active band performing and creating new songs. Their last album, "Falling Mist", was released in 2010.
