Jan & Kjeld was a boy duo. They were brothers and achieved national fame at a 1956 televised show in support for victims of Hungarian uprising. Both boys sang and played the banjo. Their recording of "Banjo Boy" in 1960 became very popular in Germany. Theyy revorded a string of records in english, german and danish and toured England, Norway, Germany, Sweden, Holland, France, Finland, Iceland =& Luxembourg, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Yugoslavia & Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Among their hits were "Tom Dooley", "Buona sera", "Tiger Rag", "When The Saints Go Marching In", "Black & Johnny", "Drømme koster ingenting", "Tutti Frutti", "Hello Mary Lou", "Down by the River side", "Hazel bleib da", "O, du lieber Augustin", "Kommen Sie mal nach Kopenhagen", "Zwei kleine Italiener", "Heartaches by the number" and "Freight train". In 1963 they stopped performing but did get dansktop hits later like "Så lyk'lige som vi" in 1976 & "Det går op, det går ned" in 1977. Kjeld Wennick started Mega Records in the 80s, and employed Jan.
