Jimena Angel is a Grammy-nominated Colombian singer-songwriter, musician, composer and record producer. Her first solo album “Dia Azul” was nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2009 in the “Best Female Vocal Album of the Year” with prominent artists like Natalia Lafurcade, Amaia Montero and Laura Pausini. She was also nominated for Nuestra Tierra Awards 2010 in the category “Best Pop Artist of the Year“. Toured Mexico and Colombia, sharing the stage with Juanes, in important places such as the National Auditorium in Mexico City, the Arena Monterrey in Mexico and the Campin Coliseum in Colombia besides playing several times at the Hard Rock Café Mexico city, alternating with Colbie Caillat and Belanova, among others. In Colombia, Jimena is recognized as a pioneer of the Spanish rock scene, thanks to her musical career, which began in 1994 with her band “Pepa Fresa”, under the label of Sony Music Colombia. Subsequently, Jimena was part of other bands like “Sidestepper” with whom she toured 3 times around Europe, sharing the stage with bands like Morcheeba, G Love And The Special Sauce, Ozomatli, Celia Cruz and others. She also performed in bands as “Sonorama”, “Regadera”, “Blusa” and “Bla bla blu” , in Colombia, between 1999 and 2006. Her video “Dia Azul”, directed by Picky Talarico, was for a long time in rotation on MTV, and “Mañana” directed by Leo Carreño, is on the web. Currently, Jimena Just released her 2nd solo album “Todo Reverdece” exploring a new sound, with Colombian rhythms, fused with electronic beats and acoustic instruments from around the world.
