Julian Koster is a member of the Elephant 6 Collective. He is the leader of American underground band The Music Tapes, and a former member of seminal indie legends Neutral Milk Hotel. He is also believed to have been a founder of the highly secretive Major Organ and the Adding Machine. Koster joined the The Olivia Tremor Control upon their 2005 reformation for a few select shows and appeared on many releases related to the Elephant 6 Collective. The instruments he is usually credited to are the singing saw, the accordion, the wandering genie, the banjo, guitar, mandolin and bass. He also played banjo on the soundtrack of the movie The Station Agent and released The Singing Saw at Christmastime in 2008. Read more on Last.fm.
