Reivew of the Artist CD/ EP http://latinmusic.about.com/od/kali_mutsa/fr/Kali-Mutsa-Ambrolina-Ep-Review.htm y un bio desde MTV - en english Kali Mutsa is one of the hottest and most innovative bands and artistic concepts of the moment in the World / Latin music scene. It was founded in Santiago, Chile by French-Chilean actress Celine Reymond and producer/keyboardist Cristobal Montes who perform respectively under the Kali Mutsa and Sandoje Catiri alter-egos. Their music is an original mix of Andean, gypsy, Bhangra (bollywood) and electronic sounds, along with lyrics in romani (gipsy) and Spanish. Ambrolina, their debut EP, and its lead single and video, Tunupa, have been featured and reviewed by influential music blogs and media outlets worldwide such as The Boston Globe, MTV Iggy and Latin America, Time Out Barcelona and NPR Alt.Latino who called Kali Mutsa “(one) of our favorite artists this year”. It received 7 out of 10 stars by one of the definite references for all things music in the United States, Spin Magazine, and made several “Best of 2011” lists on influential sites and blogs across the region. Their live shows have been referenced as all-around performances, centered on their amazing mixture of sounds featuring live clarinet, violin, accordion, charango (Andean string instrument) and other colorful instruments; visual projection of original drawings, and a strong theatrical component influenced by the leader’s acting experience. Since their inception in 2010, Kali Mutsa have performed extensively in their native city of Santiago, including the Santiago Gay Pride closing concert where they have been the headliners for the last two years, as well as in all major cities in Chile. Their international tours have included stops at the classic Buenos Aires (Argentina )Club Niceto and their US debut tour in March 2012 with performances in the legendary SOB’s in New York City, the chic private club Soho Beach House in Miami, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Washington DC and at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Conference in Austin, TX, where they were picked as one of the festival’s highlights by PRI The World (from the BBC and PRI).
